Why is deindividuation an important factor in rioting?

What will be an ideal response?

During riots, people have been arrested for looting, setting fires, and beating others. Individuals in a crowd are more likely to commit such antisocial acts because being in a crowd conceals the person's identity, a process called deindividuation. Deindividuation refers to the increased tendency for subjects to behave irrationally or perform antisocial behaviors when there is less chance of being personally identified. Researchers believe deindividuation occurs because being in a crowd gives individuals anonymity and reduces guilt and self-awareness
