Statin drugs may increase levels of digoxin. They may also increase levels of norethindrone and the oral contraceptive ethinyl estradiol. Statins are contraindicated in hypersensitivity, myopathy, active liver disease, unexplained persistent transaminase elevations, pregnancy, and lactation.
