Describe the changes that companies face while pursuing a procurement process with SAP
What will be an ideal response?
When companies use SAP to improve their processes, the company changes in significant ways. Some changes can be anticipated and are clear from the beginning. Other changes are more subtle and less expected, such as the new sets of skills necessary to optimize a supply chain. Another change that can be expected is that organizations become more process focused; that is, they increasingly focus on the inputs and outputs of its processes to connect with partner firms. Finally, the adoption of SAP may lead organizations to use more outsourcing. Many firms outsource parts of their production to take advantage of other firms that can produce a subassembly or service cheaper than they can.
