Define the three types of mediated engagement styles and give examples. (Examples will vary.)

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Sample student response:

Recorded (asynchronous) the speaker and audience interaction is not in real time.
Example: Caleb uploaded his audition tape to the radio station when he applied for the DJ position.

Live (synchronous) the speaker and audience interact in real time via mediation.
Example: Anthony Skyped with his employees while he was on vacation.

Hybrid messages occur when part of the audience is interacting in real time and a subset of the audience is not.
Example: Elvin presented his speech to his class, and then used Skype for a question and answer session between the audience and a college representative.
