A user agent is any software that accesses and presents Web content. Examples of user agents include desktop graphical browsers, test browsers, multimedia players, mobile phone displays, PDAs, plug-ins and assistive software such as screen readers, screen magnifiers and voice recognition software. User agents enhance Web accessibility by offering flexibility to a user. A user with special needs can choose the user agent that provides the best accessibility to the Web for that particular user.
