Explain the treatment of an epileptic seizure

What will be an ideal response?

To treat an epileptic seizure:
1. Remove all dental objects from the patient’s mouth
2. Remove dental equipment or move the patient if necessary to avoid injury
3. Remove glasses and loosen tight clothing; keep dentures in place unless they are obstructing the airway
4. Call Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
5. Do not force anything into the patient’s mouth
6. Do not restrain the patient
7. Once the seizure has ended, turn the patient onto his side
8. Once the patient regains consciousness, provide reassurance and support
9. Do not give the patient anything to eat or drink until she is fully alert
10. Give the patient plenty of time to rest and recover
