How can you quickly determine if the physical connection on a computer is working?
What will be an ideal response?
You can quickly determine if the physical connection on a computer is working by looking at the NIC/WNIC. Most have an LED on the outside of the computer, such as on the back of a desktop computer. If the connection is working, the LED will be blinking (or remain on) to indicate it is communicating. If it is not blinking on a cabled computer, suspect a problem with the NIC, the cable or connector, or a switch port. If the LED is not blinking on a WNIC, ensure that the computer is in range of the access point and that the access point is turned on. If these are not the problem, try a different WNIC in the computer.
