Explain how the Occupy movement and Tea Party movement in the United States shaped political discourse and public opinion. Be sure to note the mechanisms behind the movements (i.e., social media, organization, etc.)

Students should define what a social movement is and use the Occupy and Tea Party movements to illustrate these points. The methods (using communication, tactics, etc.) between the two groups are very similar, but the members and their ideologies are very different.
