Explain why schemata are important to the perception process

Without schemata, the brain would be overwhelmed by trying to process all the
stimuli it receives. Schemata provide the brain with quick systems of categorization for the
stimuli received. Since we have schemata, the brain can more efficiently process stimuli and
understand it.
