A syntax error is code that violates the macro rules established by Access. The second type of error is known as a logic error, which occurs when the macro fails to produce the results you intended. This can be caused by an action placed out of sequence in the macro or incorrect action arguments. The third type of error is a run-time error, which occurs when the macro tries to perform actions that are not possible to perform. For example, if a macro is designed to open a form that has been deleted, the macro cannot find the form and displays a run-time error.
