What is conditional formatting, and how is it used?

What will be an ideal response?

Conditional formatting allows the developer to add formatting features such as color, bold, or larger fonts based on the values in the report. Using conditional formatting, you can change the appearance of a control on a report so that it differs from one record to another depending on whether the value in the control meets criteria that you specify. You can use conditional formatting to use a different background color, font style, or text color in a control so that its values are highlighted when they meet a certain condition. If the value of the control changes and no longer meets the condition, Access uses the default formatting for the control. You can specify up to three conditions for a field.
