How are project teams and work teams different from one another?

Project teams are usually made up of specialists assigned to coordinate the completion of a specific task and may have little history together, stringent timelines and difficulty agreeing on roles and
relationships. In contrast, a work team is a group of people responsible for an entire work process or
segment of a work process that provides a service to an internal or external client that may or may not
contain specialists. Work teams can exist for an indefinite period in time or until a project is
completed. Work teams can also serve many purposes.
