When recording information, what is the traditional advice given to researchers? Is this always the most efficient? Why or why not?

What will be an ideal response?

Traditional advice to researchers is to record each piece of information on a separate notecard, along with the source citation, as you find it. With this strategy, you can organize your speech visually and experiment with different structures. The disadvantage of this method is that it consumes a great deal of library time that might be better devoted to searching for other sources. Also, much of what you record on notecards may not be used in your speech at all.
