Explain what opportunities for research you may encounter as an undergraduate student

What will be an ideal response?

• Capstone courses: Designed to allow students to complete a rather extensive paper, project, or presentation; a research project is acceptable.
• Independent study: Working with a faculty advisor to propose and carry out a research study for academic credit.
• Undergraduate research conference: Individual colleges and universities may set aside a day to allow students to present their research in a format similar to that of the annual academic conferences the professors attend.
• The National Conferences on Undergraduate Research (NCUR): Their annual conference encourages undergraduate student achievement and provides models of exemplary research and scholarship.
