Explain the different strategies regarding what to record and how to record it when conducting research
What will be an ideal response?
When in doubt, record more rather than less; and traditional advice to researchers is to record each piece of information on a separate notecard, along with the source citation, as you find it.Another, more common, method is to photocopy material at the library or to printarticles you find online. Later, you can review, evaluate, and select from the materials. Remember to note your sources on the copied pages. If the web page URLdoes not appear as a header or footer on printed pages, be sure to write it down.If you are gathering information from the Internet, be sure to print the pages youwill need or download the information to a disk or flash drive. Remember that whatappears on the Internet disappears quickly. If you do not know how to create a storage file for Internet material, ask your librarianor computer lab instructor for help.
