Discuss Senge's concept of leadership in a learning organization

What will be an ideal response?

Senge (1998) contended that leaders are responsible for promoting an
atmosphere conducive to learning. To do so, leaders must understand the notion of
creative tension, which represents the difference between the "vision" of where the
organization could be and the reality of the current organizational situation. The gap
created by the difference between the vision and reality creates a natural tension that can
be resolved through learning, particularly generative learning. If generative learning is to
take place, though, all organizational members (not just the leaders or managers) must
have a role in the process (Dixon, 1998).
