Affiliation motives are dominated by a desire for acceptance and approval. They are concerned with creating interpersonal bonds among individuals. Achievement motives show concern for an individual's desire to attain goals, to excel, or to obtain prestige or success. Power motives attempt to influence or exert control over the environment and others.
