The individual diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder exhibits symptoms of both
schizophrenia and an affective disorder; they experience both psychosis and extremes of
mood. It is not clear whether or not this disorder is best thought of as a form of mood
disorder or a form of schizophrenia.
