Compare and contrast IPv4 addresses with IPv6 addresses
What will be an ideal response?
In IPv6, addresses are 128 bits long, and in IPv4, addresses are 32 bits. In addition, IPv4 and
IPv6 use a subnet mask, but IPv6 represents a much larger range of addresses. A /64 means that
the network address is the leftmost 64 bits of the 128-bit address. Also, IPv6 does not use ARP;
it is replaced by the use of ICMPv6 . In addition, IPv4 has broadcast, multicast, and unicast
addresses, whereas IPv6 supports multicast, unicast, and anycast. Both IPv4 and IPv6 support
ping. Both IPv4 and IPv6 use the same routing protocol techniques.
