Hybrid schemes combine multiple organizational schemes, but unless the schemes are physically separated on the Web page, confusion will result. If you decide to use more than one organizational scheme, keep the two of them separate on the web page. The Nordstrom’s page gave a good example: a topically-organized menu runs horizontally across the top of the page, and a task-oriented menu runs vertically down the left side of the page.
