Which topics in my idea bank will work for my general purpose? Which topics fit
the speech assignment or request? Which topics are most familiar to me? Which topics am I
most comfortable speaking about? Which topics have positive aspects for the audience,
occasion, speaking event, or timing of the event? Which topics might cause a negative
reaction from the audience or are not appropriate? Which topics are new or unique to this
audience? Which topics are worth the audience's time and attention?
