Explain the nature of constitutional interpretation during the first period of American history

What will be an ideal response?

An ideal response will:
1, Explain how the United States experienced significant growth during those years and how this was accompanied by changes in constitutional law.
2, Discuss how Chief Justice John Marshall, who presided over the Court in the early portion of this period, was influenced by Alexander Hamilton and believed that American greatness depended on a strong national government, a partnership between business and government, and an economy relatively free of government regulations.
3, Explain how in a string of opinions the Court interpreted the Constitution to mean "maximum protection for property rights and maximum support for the idea of nationalism over states' rights."
