Describe Bridges’ idea of the neutral zone and why it may be important for change.
What will be an ideal response?
The neutral zone is the time when you have moved away from the way you used to do things, yet the new culture is not completely clear or established. It is a time of uncertainty and disorientation for many employees when the rules are not clear, yet it is also a time of creativity and loosening of restraints allowing new ideas to flourish. Sometimes employees need some time in the neutral zone to let go of the old before they are ready to embrace the new.
