Why is there a sense that the current SCOTUS is political and why?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: There have been multiple cases where the political parties are involved or support one side or the other. In these cases, the more conservative judges have voted for the republicans and vice versa. An example of this is Bush vs. Gore, which basically decided who won the presidency. All the judges voted on behalf of their ideologys, representative of the politial parties they belong to.
