What are some community and good-neighbor policy issues that can negatively impact an area when a big retailer opens a new store?

What will be an ideal response?

CSR relates to how a company affects the communities in which it does business, particularly the surrounding neighborhoods. Some companies have been accused of paying workers so little, that the opening of one of their stores actually costs the community. If workers are not offered medical benefits for themselves and/or their families, Medicaid costs can increase. Also, small and local businesses may find it hard to compete with a big retailer, and may end up closing.
