Identify and explain the central errors in everyday communication inquiry. Discuss the ways that social science seeks to guard against those errors
What will be an ideal response?
Essays should discuss the problems associated with inaccurate observations, overgeneralization, selective observation, and illogical reasoning. Each error should be countered with social scientific guards. For example, standards for measurement used in social science guard against the problem of inaccurate observation. See pages 6-7 for a discussion of ordinary inquiry.
