Customer relationship management involves tracking everything a firm knows about its customers, while partner relationship management links information between a seller and buyer. An advantage PRM offers over CRM is that with PRM at least some of the databases and systems of both supplier and buyer firms are shared in order to maximize the utility of the data for decision-making purposes. When firms share their information, they are more likely to strive for win-win solutions.
