You are applying for a job in a company that has high power distance. What defines this type of organizational culture? What kinds of evidence would you expect to find in the company that demonstrates this culture?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Possible response: An organization that has high power distance accepts wide differences in power among its members. At this company I would expect to find a great deal of deference to the people in authority. Rather than being approachable, I would expect its leaders to interact with workers only rarely and in a stiff and formal manner. I also think that official titles, ranks, and positions would have great importance in the organization. Finally, I would expect little employee empowerment; leaving all key decision making to individuals who rank highly in the hierarchy.
