Describe the role of reappraisal as a coping mechanism.

What will be an ideal response?

An effective way to cope is reappraisal-reinterpreting a situation as less threatening. Reappraisal and similar methods of suppressing anxiety depend on top-down influences from the prefrontal cortex to inhibit activity in the amygdala. People with stronger connections between the prefrontal cortex and the amygdala tend to make more use of reappraisal and tend to feel less anxiety
