Describe a broadcast storm.

What will be an ideal response?

A NIC or WNIC can malfunction resulting in continuous broadcasts, causing the entire network to slow down.  A broadcast storm is a condition in which so many broadcasts are sent at the same time that the network bandwidth is saturated and the network slows down or times out.
