In your own words, define communication climate and tell why it is important to your relationships

What will be an ideal response?

Communication climate is the social and emotional tone within a relational experience. It's the way you feel about the relationship and what is currently happening within it. It is created by—and creates—the confirming and disconfirming messages used within it. For example, if you use disconfirming messages, such as interrupting or impersonal messages, the climate becomes negative and often creates an escalatory conflict spiral. Confirming messages, on the other hand, create and are created by a positive communication climate. If a de-escalatory conflict spiral exists, one person in the relationship has probably "checked out" and decided not to engage the other in communication any longer. Withdrawal occurs, which can end a relationship.
