Define PET scan

What will be an ideal response?

Positron emission tomography (PET) scans use radioisotope technology to create a picture of the body in action. PET scans use computers to construct images from the emission of positive electrons (positrons) by radioactive substances administered to the patient. Unlike traditional X-rays and CT scans, PET scans produce images of how the body works, not just how it looks.
