Discuss the purpose of disaster planning.

What will be an ideal response?

Disaster planning is meant to ensure a disciplined recovery from a specific disaster. The disaster planning process is different from general continuity in that it is much more focused on responses to well-defined and highly specific occurrences. It delineates and then maintains a detailed set of steps to follow if a specifically foreseen contingency occurs.
