Why are knowledge workers so important to an organization?

What will be an ideal response?

Knowledge workers help create new products or find ways to improve existing ones. Without them, the firm would stagnate and become less competitive in an environment that is always changing and is increasingly more competitive. Much of a business's value lies in its tacit knowledge, and self-generated knowledge is a strategic advantage. Knowledge workers can also help improve business processes and decision making, both of which are key ingredients in making a business more efficient and produce a higher quality product.
