User resistance is a common malady of all information systems. Users resist BI systems for a number of reasons–it may change their job, require knowledge the user does not have, or distract them from their primary work. Users may be entranced by the sophistication of the viz without realizing the underlying data is fairly meaningless. A third type of user problem is that users may underestimate the cost of producing a BI report.
