2. Ability to listen: The researcher must be able to observe and sense to assimilate large amounts of new information without bias.
3. Adaptability and flexibility: The researcher must be able to handle unexpected events effectively, and use alternative sources of data that might be more fruitful.
4. Understanding of issues: The researcher must thoroughly understand the subject matter so that he/she can interpret and react to the data collected.
5. Unbiased interpretation of data: The researcher must be open in case he/she finds things contradictory to the original hypothesis
