Identify and describe the concept of public choice theory. How does it influence U.S. foreign policy?
What will be an ideal response?
Answers should discuss the ideology of limited government, free enterprise, and contracting out or outsourcing of government services. Public choice theory argues that private firms are better able to provide services and goods at a cheaper price and in a more efficient manner than the government. This ideology transfers to NGOs, political parties, and public officials who in turn provide contracts to multinational corporations.
