1. Signpost each main idea. These are important because they let the audience know where you are in
your presentation.
2. State the idea clearly. You want to make sure you don't confuse your audience. You want your ideas
to be both distinct and unmistakable to your audience.
3. Support or explain your idea. Make sure your audience has a thorough understanding of the idea you
are trying to get across to them.
4. Summarize the idea before moving to the next one. This lets the audience know that you are finishing
one point and moving on the next one, thus providing a smooth transition from point to point in an
orderly way.
