Patient Billing

a. A new patient is on the telephone and would like to know if the doctor can see her next Wednesday for a consultation.
b. A patient has come to the front desk to check out after a visit and hands you the superbill. You apply the fees to the patient’s account.
c. The doctor wants to know how many routine prenatal patients the physician’s assistant has seen in the office over the past three months.
d. There are 43 payment checks from different sources in today’s mail that need to be applied to patient accounts.
e. Monthly statements need to be mailed out by the end of this week. The statements need to be prepared and printed.
f. A new patient brings his patient information and insurance card(s) to the front desk. The patient needs to be added to the computer’s records.
g. The doctor has purchased new laboratory equipment to perform certain tests for patients during their visits. Fifteen CPT codes and fees not previously in the system need to be added for the tests that will now be billed by the office.
h. Claims are prepared and submitted electronically to the respective insurance companies for payment.

e. Monthly statements need to be mailed out by the end of this week. The statements need to be prepared and printed.
