* Transcendental meditation is a relaxation technique in which the individual repeats a mantra in order to divert attention from the surroundings.
* Biofeedback involves attaching electronic sensors to an individual in order to monitor his/her biological processes in the hopes that he/she will learn to adjust their reactions. EMG biofeedback is useful for treating muscle-tension headaches while temperature biofeedback is useful for treating migraine headaches.
