Compare and contrast RIP with RIPng
What will be an ideal response?
RIPng is a new protocol that was created to provide support for IPv6 routing. It is based on
RIPv2 for IPv4 . RIPng uses FF02::9 as a multicast address to send routing updates through
UDP port 521; in RIPv2, it is 224.0.0.9 on port 520 . Both RIP and RIPng are distance-vector
protocols. In addition, they both support split horizon and poison reverse.
