What is the difference between kerning and tracking?

What will be an ideal response?

Kerning refers to manipulating space between two characters. Tracking affects the overall spacing of words, like what you'd find in a sentence or in a paragraph. When you have large amounts of type, you can use tracking as an overall control of the space between the words-whether to save space or to increase space to fill a specific area of your layout. Remember it this way: kerning is used for very precise changes to letters, and tracking is used for global changes to large amounts of text.
