Using fictitious states, give an example that shows dependency theory.

What will be an ideal response?

Examples will vary but should show a thorough understanding of dependency theory. For example, wealthy state A might have a surplus wheat crop. Nearby less-developed state B does not have enough wheat to feed its people. Knowing this, state A negotiates trade relations with state B that makes wheat available but only on terms that favor state A.By doing this state A ties state B to its suppliers of wheat. State B, thereby, becomes dependent on state A.
