The scientific-management approach recommends that an employer conduct research to find the best way to do a job, and then teach workers to do the job exactly that way. It sees workers as lacking in initiative and creativity. The human-relations approach assumes that workers enjoy a sense of accomplishment. Therefore, an employer should enrich the job, giving employees responsibility for meaningful tasks.
