Explain gender schema theory in terms of how it contributes to a child's sense of gender
What will be an ideal response?
The first step in this theory is the child's awareness of their own sex and the behavioral differences that are expected of the two sexes. Once the child recognizes the societal importance of these behavioral differences, they seek to reinforce their schemas by looking for gender-specific behaviors. Gender scripts are learned as a part of this theory.
