What is a secure connection?
What will be an ideal response?
A secure connection encrypts the data transmitted between your computer and a Web site. Encryption is the science of coding data. To protect your credit card and all information you submit via an e-commerce site, you should engage in electronic transactions only over Web sites that provide a secure connection. Even if a hacker can capture the packets containing payment data, your encrypted information, such as your credit card number, is virtually useless for illegal purposes. Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) is a standard protocol for securing credit card transactions over the Internet. SET relies on cryptography and digital certificates to ensure the transactions are legitimate as well as secure. A digital certificate is a specially coded electronic attachment to a file that verifies the identity of the file's source. Technologies that create secure connections include SSL, TLS, and S-HT TP.
