Some people believe that government should limit its involvement with business. Do you think the Baldrige National Quality Award is a good idea? Explain your reasoning
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Sample response: The Baldrige Award is given out annually by the President to organizations in a broad range of industry sectors including manufacturing, services, health care and education. The award criteria don't just focus on quality of product and services, but on issues such as leadership, customer focus, knowledge management and strategic planning. Winners of the Baldrige Award also tend to exercise good public citizenship. I believe that the government presenting this award is an excellent way to motivate companies, employees and the business community at large to aspire to the highest levels of quality. In fact, the award criteria also require winners to share their strategies with other businesses to perpetuate a culture of excellence in American business.
