Twisted-pair cable is composed of small copper wires that are covered with an insulating material. Each wire is twisted with another, and this pair is color-coded-one being a solid color and the other being white with a stripe of the same solid color. One pair to four pairs of wires-each of a different solid color-are bundled together and encased in an outer jacket.
