Why should cassettes and intensifying screens be examined prior to use?
What will be an ideal response?
To check the hinges and snaps of the cassette for light-tightness. Check rigid cassettes for warping. Check for cleanliness and scratches of the intensifying screens. If cassettes are warped, there will not be close screen-film contact and images will be blurry. Debris on screens results in radiopaque artifacts. Scratched screens will not produce the light needed to expose the films.
