What is the main difference between RIP version 1 (RIPv1) and RIP version 2 (RIPv2) ?

In RIP version 2, there are several expansions of RIP version 1 like inclusion of
authentication mechanism, supporting of subnetting and classless routing, and response using multicast. RIPv2 extends RIPv1 by adding information to the unused fields of the RIPv1 packet, particularly the subnet masks and the next hop address. RIPv2 also takes advantage of IP multicasting, where it uses a multicast address for routing advertisements, whereas RIPv1 uses broadcast for advertisements.
